She walked down the pier, her tear stained face black by the mascara. Her hair was whipping round her face as the wind swirled around her. The ocean waves making small splashing noises against the rocks. Her heart broken forever.

            *********************************************

So, I suppose you want to know what happened. Well it's not very happy, it's not very nice. But if you want to know, stay here with me on this seat and I'll tell you about the girl with the broken heart.

            *********************************************

It was two years ago now, she was happy, always happy because he was around. He would make her laugh, make her smile, but most of all he would make her love him. And so she did, though she didn't realise how much she gave him... her heart, and possibly her soul.

They would dance till midnight, and watch the sun rise in the morning. Spend the day walking and holding hands. And do it all over again. It was peaceful, and blissful. She loved those days.

            *********************************************

So you're wondering what went wrong. Well, nothing much happened for a while, he would disappear, no watching the sun rise, no dancing till midnight, no walking holding hands. He would just disappear.

            *********************************************

He came home one night, his clothes a mess, his hair tousled. She knew where he had been from that moment on. There was someone else. And yet, he walked up to her, wrapped his arms round her small waist and planted his lips on hers, leading her to the bedroom where the inevitable happened. He left in the morning, leaving her lying on the bed, didn't even notice the small trail of tears running down her cheek.

            *********************************************

She cried for the day, and wiped her tears when he came home. She could see his untucked shirt, there was a button missing and a hint of lipstick on the collar. She bit her lip, trying not to cry. She had given everything to him, she had given him her life.

            *********************************************

The inevitable happened again, but this time he saw her tears. He asked what was wrong. She asked who he was with. He didn't answer, just paced back and forth, before turning to her. Running his hand through his hair, the hair she had used to love to run her hands through. He inhaled and whispered:

'I want you, I need you, but I can't ever love you'

And then he left, leaving her on the bed, crying once again. Heart broken, soul hopefully intact. Hope diminished. Love gone. She wiped her eyes, picked herself up and sighed, because two out of three ain't bad.

            ********************************************

So I'm guessing your wondering why she's on the pier, her hair flying around her face, the tears still falling. It's been two years, and she's still with that man. Because two out of three ain't that bad.
I love this one, inspired by the song 'Two out of Three Ain't Bad' by Meat Loaf.
Hope you all like it.
